By: Gideon Agbagba The lifeless body of a man believed to be in his early 40s was found lying in front of a chemical shop at 1st Low co...
Some residents who were present at the scene said the man might be a stranger in the community since they were unable to identify him.
The deceased dark in complexion was in a blue polo T-shirt and jeans trousers that was just below his knees and was without any footwear.
When Volta Forum spoke with the owner of the shop where the man lay lifeless, he said at about 5:00am when he was going to church for prayers, he saw the man rolling on the ground but thought he was drunk. But when he returned, he realised that the man was still there but then not moving.
The Assembly man for the area Hon. Sefenu Robson and his Unit Committee members later informed the Police at Aflao to take over.
Speaking with the crime officer, DSP Eric Vondee, he said due to unavailability of space in the mortuary, authorities could not accept the body. "The body was in the police vehicle for almost an hour. I have to call and plead with them to accept the body and put it somewhere so that tomorrow we get the necessary documents from the court for Environmental officers to bury him since we can't bring the body back to the police station before they accepted the body" he said.
He concluded that further investigations would be carried out and efforts would also be made to trace the families of the deceased.
