The high priest and chairman of the General Conference of the Apostles Revelation Society church, the Rev. Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu has said that he remains and is still the leader of the church.
According to the high priest no individual or group of people can remove him from office as his calling into office was a divine one ordained by the almighty God. Rev. Nyeenyami was reacting to a publication carried by the Spectator newspaper in its Saturday, October 3rd edition captioned , "ARS General Conference Removes Nyeenyami Etsey Wovenu...... He disputes it"
He said the group of people behind the said publication were disgruntled members of the previous general conference which was dissolved and it's members summarily dismissed for various acts of misconduct that went against the churches rules who therefore had no moral justification for their actions. He therefore called on the general public to disregard the said publication and the individuals behind it.
He noted that there was never any meeting whatsoever at which any such decision for his removal was taken otherwise he as the head of the general conference would have been aware. Rev. Nyeenyami therefore advised all members of the Apostles Revelation Society worldwide to be wary of those 'miscreants ' saying 'any member of the church who does business with such individuals was doing it at their own risk.
He further revealed that it had been brought to his attention that the same individuals had also opened various bank accounts and were asking congregants to channel their tithes, offerings and other donations through such accounts describing such individuals as criminals who will be dealt with according to law in due time.
The high priest mentioned some individuals including Togbui Dodea Awli, Charles Agbolosu, Ben Gbadago, one Nyamador and one Akoto among others as the individuals behind such acts of lawlessness which had the tendency of bringing the name of the church into disrepute. He used the opportunity to caution media organizations to be circumspect in their reportage and to crosscheck facts before publishing.
He was not happy with the editors of the spectator newspaper and threatened to take legal action against the paper should they repeat same next time.
